The Week in Review; 1/12

Hi!  <enthusiastically waves>  Hope you all had a fabulous week.  I’m making a conscience effort to get back in the swing of things here, I promise.  This week was crazy here, not just on the blog but in this house as well.  In case you didn’t notice, I migrated the entire blog over to WordPress from Blogger.  Never fear, I did NOT do most of the work myself, so it should be safe for you to click around.  I am so very grateful to my very good “in real life” friend Andrea from A. Kay Web Design and Twins Happen for agreeing to put up with me yet again and for taking charge with this migration.  I am still learning this whole platform, and still have some tweaks here and there, but overall I am loving it and I hope you do as well.

While you are here, be sure to do a couple of things for me.  I even took the time to make you a little picture so you know where to go,  I’m quite the giver that way.

1.  Sign up for email updates.  This way you are guaranteed to never miss a post.  You would never want to miss something :)

2.  Use those adorable little social media buttons and join me wherever it is you may be socializing.  I promise to entertain you, but I can never promise that I won’t disappoint.  We all have our bad days.

pretty please, do these things

Moving on to our week.  In all honesty, it was pretty slow due to the migration and the fact that PITA was down and out with the flu all week.  I really needed a boost due to being home-bound for four days so I decided to resurrect a very popular challenge.  On Wednesday I re-posted my “I Am” challenge from a couple of months ago.  I have to tell you that the response this time was just as incredible as it was the last time.  I have decided to post all of the stories that I have received via email and private Facebook message, but only two per day until they run out.  At this exact moment I have enough to get us through the next couple of months, but please keep them coming.  The response is incredible and seeing the support from total strangers on Facebook is uplifting and it truly gives you hope that we are good people.  Good people surround themselves with good people, and I am so fortunate to be surrounded.  If you missed the challenge, you can read all about it here:  I Am ____  Who are YOU?    I will be waiting for your story.

Try it, you might like it.

Thursday night I was inspired by Mouse.  My sweet, quiet, kind, six-year-old Mouse.  I couldn’t help but write this after her kind gesture gave me hope that Farmer Bob and I are actually succeeding at this parenting gig.  Read what she did for me with just One Little Book.

Here are my favorite things that I read this week:

Mary Tyler Mom:  She never disappoints.  I am so honored to call her my friend, and her words are so beautiful.  This piece was just posted Friday night, but holy cow.  Beautiful.

Four Plus an Angel:  Jessica’s piece on the Supermom Myth is simply amazing.  We all feel this way and this couldn’t have come at a better time for me.

Daddy Knows Less: One of my very favorite people.  Are we paying attention to who our kids are idolizing?  Maybe we should keep a closer eye.  Wonderful piece.

Frugalista Blog:  My dear Frugie took me up on the “I Am” challenge this week and I’m so glad she did!  Read hers and be sure to do your own!

One more thing before you leave, I know I’m being bossy today.  If you have an iPod/iPhone/iPad, don’t forget you can add Johnny directly to your homepage.  He will then bring you directly to me.  HOW AWESOME IS THAT??  Here are the easy peasy directions:

1.

open up the site in Safari

Open up the site in Safari, click on the arrow at the bottom.

2.

click on Johnny's face

3.

sit back and enjoy the view. Click to read!

Have a great week you all, thank you for reading and for bearing with me through the changes!  xoxo

  1. Whoop whoop! Things look great! I’m glad I’m not the only one new to WordPress… it’s definitely a learning curve, but soooo much better than Blogger.

    Exciting things!
